In Support of Van Go's Youth

A Message from Van Go’s Executive Director

February 4, 2025

Dear Van Go Community,

As we continue to navigate the evolving perspectives on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the wake of recent governmental decisions, I want to take a moment to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the youth and young adult employees who are at the heart of Van Go’s mission.

Regardless of external circumstances or changes at the governmental level, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment where all young people can thrive. Our work has always been about creating opportunities for youth to develop professionally, express themselves creatively, and gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their careers and beyond. This commitment to our mission will not change.

We are proud to be a part of an accepting and welcoming community – one where every individual, regardless of their background or identity, can find a place to belong and grow. It is our diversity that makes us stronger and our shared values that bind us together in the pursuit of excellence and empowerment.

We understand that these are challenging times, and we encourage you to stand with us as we continue this critical work. There are many ways you can support our youth – whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word about Van Go’s work. Your support underlines the importance of providing meaningful employment opportunities, mentorship, and a strong community for the youth and staff we employ.

The challenges of today only strengthen our resolve to make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most. Your involvement and advocacy amplify the impact we can have on the lives of those we serve.

All people are deserving of respect, support, and the chance to pursue their full potential. As always, we stand firmly behind Van Go’s mission to nurture a future where every young person can succeed, regardless of the shifting political landscape.

Thank you for being a part of this important work.

Sincerely,

Lori McSorley
Van Go Executive Director
